Pholiota aurivella - PA22

The Chestnut mushroom displays deep orange caps from large clusters of mushrooms. Chestnut prefers cooler temperatures, fruiting in the fall on logs or in cool rooms for loose substrate. This variety is prone to sticky caps that can be mitigated with careful environmental controls.

Spawn run time:
On loose substrate: 4-6 weeks
On logs: 9-12 months
Fruiting temperature range:
55-65° F
Indoor incubation temperature:
50-60° F. Spawn run will occur outdoors at temperatures above 50° F.
Suitable for cultivation on:
Logs, sterilized sawdust substrate
