Shiitake LE3790 is a block strain, and produces thick, medium-sized uniform caps. Incubation time best at 16 weeks. Mid-temperature range 55-70°F for best quality. Excellent quality, good yields. Available in large (4 lb.) bags only.
PLEASE NOTE: the mycelium of this species is not thick and white. When you receive your grain spawn you will notice significantly finer mycelium than what you may be accustomed to if you usually work with other grain spawns.
Shiitake requires a sterilized supplemented sawdust as it's substrate.
