Slant (tube) cultures are just a single expansion from the Mother Culture. They are stable clones of the original culture and retain all the genetics and characteristics the culture is known for. Slants are great for sub-culturing, expansion, short-medium term storage, and culture maintenance. When stored and handled appropriately, they have less risk of accidental contamination or desiccation.
Aseptic technique and basic laboratory equipment is required for working with Tube Cultures. Purchase of this product assumes you are familiar with the necessary requisites therefore no instructions accompany the culture purchase. We guarantee that all strains sold to you are viable, vigorous and contaminant free. Cultures are expanded onto appropriate media (e.g. PDYA) in glass test tubes and double sealed with parafilm. They are made to order (please allow 2-6 weeks for delivery).
