Excellent colonization in the most unfavorable conditions. The summer following inoculation was extremely dry. The totem logs were dehydrated to the point of seeing gaps in each section. I thought for sure it was a total loss but that early fall they began to fruit and now, 2 years later continue to fruit very well. Very pleased. Follow inoculation instructions and you can't go wrong. Another note: I was sent pictures of a property we used to own where we left shiitake logs in the woods with the WR46 strain and they are still fruiting 7+ years later. My opinion is that it's worth the labor and investment upfront. Also great customer service. Thank you Field and Forest.
