Plated cultures are just a single expansion from the Mother Culture. They are stable clones of the original culture and retain all the genetics and characteristics the culture is known for. Plates are easy to work with, can be sub-cultured onto additional plates or tubes, expanded directly onto sterilized grain, or used to produce liquid spawn. When stored appropriately, plated cultures are perfect for short-term culture storage and maintenance.
