This spawn is meant for growers who are interested in simple introducing morel genetics into their landscape, or who have the knowledge and materials to make their own EXO bags.

We have been working with Morel cultivation for years. Some trials are successful, but never to the point of honest, abundant reproducibility. This spawn is not warranted to produce mushrooms due to the many yet unknown factors of growing morels, but is a fine bag of hope to experiment with.

The Landscape Morel (Morchella importuna) can be found growing in heavily mulched areas, often associated with landscape plantings and may have little relationship with the surrounding vegetation. We recommend inoculating in areas of mineral soil and mulching over with fresh wood chips. Note: This is one of the morels being successfully field cultivated in China and elsewhere. Fall planting is recommended with this method using sawdust spawn.

Recommended planting rate: 5 lb. bag will inoculate about 10-20 sq. ft. Includes spawn and instructions.
