Our most popular buried block set is back! Maitake, or Hen of the Woods, takes a good deal of effort to grow on logs, and a decent amount of luck to find while foraging. But with buried blocks, all you need is a shady space outdoors and some wood chips or sawdust. Along with 20 minutes, you can have a Maitake bed prepped and planted for fall harvest.
This set comes with 8 ready-to-bury Maitake blocks. We only produce in limited quantities, so get them while you can!

Cultivation requires spring or fall planting in a shaded outdoor area.
Time to First Fruiting: typically begins fruiting just before wild maitake can be found
