Description

Grown on hardwood chip or straw beds, Wine Cap mushrooms grow quickly and their port wine colored caps and white stalks are great for braising, sautéing, grilling or pickling. Ideal for planting in semi-shaded areas (such as the north side of the house) this mushroom takes advantage of areas that are too shady for other food crops. To prevent the wine cap bed from drying out it should be planted where it can be watered if necessary. Plant in partially shaded areas to reduce the need for watering.

We use winecap to innoculate the hardwood chips under the blueberries plants.

Great packaging… fresh product

I was so excited to get these! Put in old sawdust, mulch, straw, spread spawn, then mulch. Then husband let the old hens out for transitioning to forage. They worked over the straw/mulch, but I caught them before it was ALL out of the patch. Then… I had some woven garden mesh I out over the patch. They haven’t bothered it… but I’m crossing fingers and praying I will still get some wine caps. ?

Fast and covered in white

Ordered Wednesday and FedEx dropped it today(Friday) at 1 PM! Amazing. A big name competitor sent theirs USPS, took over a week and looked like plain dirt. It also was dead, which is why I tried F&F.. Sawdust spawn is covered in white mycelium, easy to see these babies are going to work.
